After leaving University and taking my design placement with Jane Churchill Interiors, I worked with a number of design and media companies, furnishing residential properties throughout London and the Home Counties. However, the lure of beachside living proved too strong to resist and, after swapping the London Underground for open spaces and coastal dog walks, I moved down to Cornwall around twenty years ago, to freelance for a leading holiday lettings agency, reviewing properties and advising on maximising income through marketing and interior decoration. Shortly afterwards, I set up Driftwood Designs Cornwall, providing interior styling services within Cornwall and beyond. The business has expanded in recent years, with room styling for photo shoots and events; producing handcrafted reclaimed timber homewares and working with local trades to provide a fully inclusive holiday property refurbishment and inventory package. Whilst I can readily adapt to all tastes, the majority of my work has focused on creating coastal inspired interior schemes - layering pattern and texture and combining vintage with new to create spaces infused with a sense of calm, comfort and light.
